GUEST POST: LIVE FOR THE FUNK
Hi friends! My name is Jonathan Abramson and I write for Live For The Funk. Back in 2008, a young man named Michael Washington needed a place to keep friends up to date on music he had been digging. Unexpectedly, people from all over the world started taking an interest in his tastes. Since then, the LFTF empire has exploded, and he has added Aaron Leder, Me, Ben Friedlander, and Samuel Krause to the LFTF team.
All five of us bring something different to the table. Mike is very much in tune with the hip-hop, rap, and dope scene. Ben specializes in bass and dance/house/electronic music. Aaron does not post, but he keeps us all in line and handles a lot of the LFTF business. Sam does our monthly mixes and occasionally posts. And I, well, I post everything else. I listen to everything and anything - some weeks I’ll post jazz, others hip hop, others indie rock, others blues. There is no limit to my musical preferences. I have my father to thank for my eclectic taste. He introduced me to more styles of music than I can count or name, and he bought me my first guitar when I was eight years old. Music is my passion, and like any healthy obsession, it consumes me.
With all of that said, I present to all of you some of the tunes I have been really digging the past few weeks. They’re not all necessarily brand spanking new, but like my posting habits, there’s a little bit of everything here.
Feel free to get in touch via my twitter
or my LFTF email, and enjoy!
